b'DESIGNER DELIGHTSCountryman Catapults S1This is a bargain at 45 reduced from 60. Designed by Joe Roberts, it has a smaller fork gap than the Hedgerow Hunter and has a much shallower cup as well as more shaped fork arms to grip around. The tips are 24mm wide and are heavily sloped at 30 degrees back towards you. The idea is that you hold the frame with the S1 laser etched model name facing you. The reason is so you can hold your hand less angled, with a more straight out wrist for coping with higher power bands as well as meaning less tip friction on the bands. No lanyard hole. This was a single not-to-be-repeated run, so is a rarey.Length: 140mmFork Width: 90mmFork Gap: 40mm x 30mm (WxD)Fork Tips: 24mmWeight: 175g Note the steep tip slope. A subtle shape, it can even be shot thumb-pad style with its raised area below the diminutive forks. I asked an expert PFS shooter and Batz told me that you can grip it in at least three di erent ways. He has one and uses brace grip. It feels good in the hand and is the ultimate in pocketability. You know that bit when they open the briefcase and a powerful golden light gleams from within and nobody knows what it is? Well it is merely a design exercise at this point, a prototype of awesomeness, like that Rolls Royce of the Future on Youtube. But this is what was inside. A brace of Bill Hayes Pocket Rangers, fit for tubes and flats. One thickly plated in purest 24 karat gold, the other in sumptuous rose gold.We happy, Vincent? Yeah, we happy!023021-023_SSW004.ProShot.indd 23 30/07/2020 17:42'
