Mark Clark posted a Facebook video of a brilliantly slingshot-friendly shop he had found in deepest Kent. In a small industrial unit, where their core business seems to be the care and sales of the top end of mowing equipment for folks with absurd acreages of grass to keep under control, like vineyards and orchards and big homes. The mowing kit they had there when I went to visit as Mark suggested, was serious. From small ride upons to estate grade. The main business is downstairs and there is a door to The Hunting Lodge that opens to a small hallway.
At the bottom of the stairs is a display of axes, bolted to a steel plate, with a Hultafors twin headed monster for just under £300 as centre piece. Climb said stairs and you are inside the most stuffed-with-products hunting shop, filled with things that any reader will want to have. From seriously good clothes and boots to hunting ordnance from 12 Bores to Gypsy Slings, made by a local lad. They sell old school tube and square elastic and Sean, the boss, is looking to source more from abroad in big quantities. The rubbery stuff in heaps in the video was deemed to be only ‘low stock levels’!
Michael is the man running the place for Sean and is the chap you will deal with if you go shop. They have a website too: https://www.hunting-lodge.co.uk/
This is their facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HuntingLodge.Shop/
I made a little happy video about the place so you could see the Aladdin’s cave nature of the shop.
If you are local get down there and if you haven’t got the mag yet, they have ’em all.
