It took rather too long but maybe the timing is best this way. I recently took Mr. Mark Clark and Mr. John Jeffries on my second visit to Pete’s Airgun Farm in Essex. This is a serious place for air gunners and indeed for us as well, as catapult shooters. They have enormous space and some really cool ranges. Because it is airguns and the recent tightening of the law regarding these, you have to attend an induction and pay £20 before you can shoot on a day ticket. Induction is just one of the chaps taking you around and explaining the rules. It is all sensible stuff, like the range honker. Pete’s even have a chrony for random checking the air guns to ensure they are below the 12 foot-pounds legal limit.
In the video below of the area we would get to use for our range alongside any air pistol shooters, there is one rude word! It was the bloke who did our induction making jokes about the catapults being so powerful. However the place is absolutely brilliant as a weekend venue and I would love to see a proper shoot happening here in deepest Essex. What do you think of the range?
