For a long while, we had a supply of the clever Martin Hird Milbro frame converter mushrooms for fitting flat bands to these classic frames. Hirdhawks Design was the cunning behind specifying these. We gather that there was a bit of nope-try-again in the process of getting the size right in the first place and we only had so many. And over time, they all got snapped up at £9 a pack.
