I have had the last bits of genius wrought by Really-Awesome Design, my man ‘Nitial Geeeeeee!
I have gone through the proofs with a fine tooth comb and am happy I have another issue to be called a ‘collectible’.
It has some cool kit, some serious frames, some BIG news and product releases and adds to a body of information started by the first two.
I think the “YOU’RE NICKED!” article makes essential reading. We interview a poacher. There is a host of gadgetry including a pheasant whistle. There’s some deep Chinese influence…
CONFESSION: The couple on the cover were picked because, well, Ziggy is pretty and they make a matching pair, with left and right hand hold. I met Josh at the Bushcraft show where he came to find us and shot his own frame – seen below. His lass did too. But for their shoot I gave her a WASP WOLF in RealTree, banded with.. well, can YOU identify that purple colour? Nope? That’d be because it is a sample from a company that had been decided as being of no use, for being too weak. It’s not a colour you can match to any you have seen, is it? I also had her hold it so the WASP logo showed. The draw weight was four pounds. I wanted glam, I wanted a tad controversial and Ziggy also ended up on the front cover of the Bushcraft Magazine itself, after a shot taken of her by another snapper at this show made the cut.
So that’s two editors who talent-spotted this outdoors lass, now married to her Josh and living in a 3.5tonne van with a cast iron stove and a crochet bedspread on their kingsize bed. But the fuss that they were not people the top shots knew, was impressive…
Mind you, this was the third time I tried to get this shot. Here are the adorable Mr. & Mrs. Finch, who just couldn’t turn off the giggles….
And of course, as Oscar Wilde said, there’s only one thing worse than being talked about.
I do hope you like it, I am all set up with new tougher envelopes and a serious heap of printer ink for the labels.
