EXPLODING NEWS! NEW ARMEX BARRAGE BOARD – MEET THE NEW KING OF REACTIVE TARGETS!

In the first REALLY cool ‘scoop’ for Slingshot World magazine and website, we have the hottest news (about 1,670 Centigrade, briefly) – and we were the first people outside of the ARMEX organisation to be told. This is a pukka slice of news about something you are going to WANT so badly, you will be able taste it.

A twenty-shot A4-sized exploding target set called THE BARRAGE BOARD.

It is made by Armex and although still subject to final changes, will look like this ‘spy’ image we have had access to and shall be on sale in early May.

And it’s going to be a tenner. Simply put, you hit it, and it go BOOM. TWENTY TIMES.

This makes the single-shot exploding targets that have gone before, look expensive. By 50% – and you had to set each one of those old types up individually. This product is like going from an old single-shot-at-a-time springer air rifle, to a multi shot pre-charged pneumatic airgun. You get LOTS more fun and ever so quickly if you can shoot well. Obviously made for air gunners, this writer is firmly of the belief that our steel balls are less deformable than a leaden pellet and thus we strike the explosion off with greater speed and a louder bang than them.

And you know what? With my connections to blast overpressure metering and scary explosives experts (I dealt with them for my Guinness World Record thing in my other, extreme audio job!) I can and shall attempt to prove or disprove that ‘ballsy’ statement!

I am so thrilled to be the one who got this first for Slingshot World.

Can you you imagine the scene? The finals of a big catapult shoot event, determined by the clearance of a a full Barrage Board by each shooter – against the clock! It’d be one noisy, mayhemic, spectator-delighting thing.

But it might just upset the neighbours!

For more Armex goodness and all sorts of target products that our lot of sling shooters will adore, go see:  www.armex.co.uk but do be aware that the BARRAGE BOARD product is not yet on their site at time of writing.. yes, we really are ahead of the rest!
