Bristol Pirates’ Shoot – BIG SUCCESS!!

A completely HUGE shout out of thanks, appreciation and lurve for the epic efforts of Karen and Kev, who run the nascent Bristol Pirates club. Only a few folks like the Wicks know the true depth of effort needed to pull off such a thing as a full competitive shoot. They had hired the whole pub garden at the Hope & Anchor in Bristol, and ferried shooters to a fabulous course of hunting targets with stuff from bin lid sized just so novices could get a ‘dingg!’ up to savagely difficult distant and small ones for the pro tier.

There was some amazing commitment shown by folks who came from afar. Scotland and even Ireland! People travelled in from all over and got fed and watered, as well as being able to meet up, even if based as groups on tables to adhere to the rules.

Lockdown has been a bit weird and my sleep hours are so messed up that just getting up at 5am to do a show as I always have, kinda wiped me out and I did crap out a bit early, for which I apologise. I managed to get some frames shot for the opening pages and also collected a massive stand for the mags at future events, rescued from a shopping mall by Karen for me, and once used to house Geographers A to Z company maps!

SCC – or it is SSS?
